Engr. Nathaniel Oyatogun has an M.Sc (Mech. Eng.) from the University of Lagos and B.Sc (Mech. Eng.) from the University of Ife, Ile-Ife and is an alumnus of the Advanced Management Program (AMP) of the Ashridge Business School, United Kingdom. His career in the oil and gas industry, starting with Shell, spans more than 30 years as a Maintenance Supervisor, Well site Petroleum Engineer, Gas Planning Engineer, Gas Market Development, Business Development Manager, Sales & Marketing Manager, Commercial Advisor etc.

He is currently consulting for SEPLAT, the foremost Independent Gas player in Nigeria as Gas Commercial Manager. In the last 21 years, his focus has been on various aspects of the Natural Gas Value Chain with Nath working in the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors of the gas business. He is a leading author and has made presentations at various international gas events including the World Gas Conference 2012 where he won an award. He presented the Oil Producers Trade Section input on the Downstream Gas Bill to the National Assembly in 2007 and has extensive working knowledge of the Nigerian Gas Master Plan, serving on various work streams on gas commercialization, infrastructural blueprint and legal/regulatory development.

He has won the following professional bodies awards – Society of Petroleum Engineers International (Africa Regional Award 2011), Nigerian Gas Association (Gas Industry Award 2016). A Gamechanger project on Natural Gas Utilization in Nigeria, which he led also won an award in Shell International Exploration & Production Laboratories, Rijswijk, Netherlands in 1996/97. His hobbies include playing musical instruments, singing and swimming. He is currently developing a software package for the gas industry. He is married with children.
